Authentic Taiwanese Comfort Food in Caulfield!
🍽️ What We Tried:
🐟 Sweet & Sour Fish Fillet – Made with fresh barramundi, the fillets were thick and tender inside while perfectly crispy on the outside. Coated in a slightly sweet and tangy sauce, every bite was a perfect balance of crunch and juiciness—absolutely addictive!
🥚 Scallion Omelette – The moment it arrived, the aroma of fresh scallions hit me. The egg was golden, thick, and fluffy—just like the ones you’d grab at a Taipei night market but with a touch of refinement.
🐂 Sha Cha Beef with Water Spinach – A classic Taiwanese stir-fry bursting with wok hei! The beef slices were tender, the sha cha sauce was rich and savory, and the water spinach had the perfect crisp texture. A well-balanced dish with both meat and greens.
🐔 Three Cup Chicken – The chicken thigh pieces were tender and bouncy, coated in a thick, flavorful sauce with hints of sesame oil and rice wine. The fresh basil added a fragrant kick, making it the perfect dish to pair with a bowl of hot rice—pure comfort food!
This place gave me the cozy, nostalgic feel of a street-side stir-fry shop in Taiwan. Everything is freshly made to order, and the owner—who’s from Taipei—is warm and genuine. I asked if this was a new restaurant since I hadn’t heard much about it before, and he told me it’s been open for a year but has never spent a dollar on marketing. Instead, they focus purely on making great food, and it shows.
I went during peak dining hours, and the place was filled with Monash Caulfield students chatting and enjoying a meal together. The background music was chill, adding to the relaxed and welcoming vibe. Parking is easy to find nearby, and if you’re taking public transport, Tram 64 stops close by.
I’ve included the menu in the last two photos—if you’re looking for authentic, generous portions of Taiwanese food, this spot is a must-try! Honestly, it saves you a flight to Taiwan! 🤩
